If you need an excuse to visit Bath get down to the area around the Abbey to see some of the most interesting images you will ever see.
The following is from the Bath and North East Somerset Council website explaining and introducing the exhibition. Don't miss it if you can get to Bath.
"One of the most striking visual exhibitions in the world will be in Bath for four months as part of a major series of environmental events hosted by Bath and North East Somerset Council that will focus people's minds on why the Council is aiming to reduce its carbon emissions by at least 30% over the next five years. Internationally renowned 'Earth from the Air' is a 120 giant street gallery picture trail of photographs taken by Yann Arthus-Bertrand showing how human activity has left an imprint. They are a record of what has survived the mushrooming globalised industrial economy and what changes it has wrought. The Council has worked with event organizer wecommunic8 to bring the event to Bath and has been supported by local and regional organizations - with generous support from The Roper Family Charitable Trust, Trevor Osborne Group, and Michael Edge."
The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) international environmental photographer of the year competition recognises photographers who use their talent to raise awareness of environmental and social issues - from places and people to vulnerable ecosystems and communities that are struggling with a changing climate.
